Senior IT Security Specialist (ISSO/ISSM)
Annapolis Junction, MDOPS Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior IT Security Specialist (ISSO/ISSM) to work in Annapolis Junction, MD.
Job Description: The Senior Security Specialist will provide support to the program assisting in security proposals, implementations, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.

Job Description: The Senior Security Specialist will provide support to the program assisting in security proposals, implementations, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
Other responsibilities include:
- Provide daily oversite and direction to the ISSO team.
- Provide expertise in knowledge of current security tools, hardware/ software security implementation: different communication protocols, and encryption techniques, and Expertise with commercial security products, security authorization techniques, security incident management, and PKI and authorization services.
- Lead the management of day- to- day security operations of systems, software, hardware, and firmware.
- Assist in the development of the system security policy, planning, and regular compliance.
- Develop and update system security plans.
- Maintain and control changes to the system and assess the security impact of those changes.
- Provide support to plan, coordinate, and implement IT security programs and policies.
- Provide configuration management for security- relevant information system, software, hardware, and firmware.
- Knowledge of security tools, products, and authorization techniques to also include incident management, PKI, and authorization services.
Required qualifications:
- 12 years of relevant experience supporting related work.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT Engineering
- CWIP Certification:
- IAT III (CISA, CISSP, GSE, SCNA, or GCIH)
- IAM I (GISF, GSLC, Security+, or CAP)
- IAT I (GSEC, Security+, or SSCP)
Security Clearance:
- Eligibility to obtain a current government clearance, background investigation, and polygraph are desired but not required.
